Andrew Patterson has always been an avid football player since the age of 4. Prior to becoming an HHS Terrier football player, Andrew played for the Carrollwood Cardinals Tampa Bay Youth Football League. During his 10 years with the Cardinals, he played multiple positions (Center, Nose Guard, Defensive End, Right and left Guard) earning Offensive player of the year, MVP, most improved defensive player of the year, Sportsmanship award, and Legendary Lineman for the ability to take the nose tackle one on one and relieve the tremendous pressure off of the guards.

In 2014 Andrew was offered a scholarship to play for Jesuit High School. At the same time NFL Derrick Brooks was trying to coordinate a football team at his high school “Brooks-DeBartolo Collegiate High School” and he wanted Andrew to play for his team. However, the football team is still in the making. Derrik coached Andrew at TBYFL Packers during the spring time. In the summer of 2014 Andrew would often go to NFL player Mike Williams home and train with Mike Williams who is a firm believer in Andrew and his success as a football player. Andrew would also train with Mike Williams trainer to become a more competitive player.

As a Hillsborough Terrier, Patterson Played center and DE and was the captain of the JV team his freshman year. At the conclusion of his JV year he was moved up to Varsity the same year and played the last two games on the Varsity team.

Andrew’s Sophomore year he played Center. He earned his letterman Jacket. He also attended camps such as Big County Preps, USF big man camp, FAMU Camp, Sound Mind Sound Body, and UF camp to continue to grow skills and technique. Andrew is also a member of the National Society of High School Scholars and received a certificate of selection for medal for the 2017 presidential inauguration youth leadership congress medal of achievement. In Andrew’s off time he is an assistant coach for youth football.

For Andrew’s Junior year with the terriers, as co-captain he will play a vital role as Center and Nose guard. He plans to use his strength, size and techniques to shut down the opponent’s defense and offense. Andrew has the ability to control the line of scrimmage. His flexibility, stability, footwork, field vision, Football IQ and Physicality will work in bringing the Terriers back to their winning tradition in the 2016 season.
